NEW MEDIA AND POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS

Jonathan Alter, Dan Schnur, David Demarest (moderator)

The Aurora Forum joins with the Stanford Publishing Course to present "New Media and Political Campaigns," a conversation with three experts on political messaging. What are we to make of the increasing expression of politics as media experience? How are "new media" (mobile video, YouTube, blogs) influencing political campaigns? What might the future of democratic processes look like with the emergence of the political force of this unregulated electronic town hall?

Join Jonathan Alter, senior editor and columnist at Newsweek, Dan Schnur, a noted Republican media strategist, and David Demarest, a former White House communications director who is now vice president for public affairs at Stanford, for a lively, illustrated discussion of these and other current questions.
