On Vox: QotD: Little Known Facts

Question of the Day: What are five things that most people don't know about you?
Submitted by mika.

This QoTD reminds me of the "if you really knew me...: question from Challenge Day and the meme that was going around Vox back in December where I revealed more who-really-cares facts about myself. But what the heck, I need a lunch break, so I'll try to come up with some new ones.

  1. I'm an introvert. No really. I hate talking to strangers, especially where the conversation is unstructured or ill-defined, like a party. ::shudders:: Sometimes people think I'm stand-offish or aloof, but I'm really just looking for an exit. (okay, maybe I've told people this one already).
  2. I bruise easily, physically and emotionally. Again, most people think I'm one tough cookie when they meet me and I guess in some ways I am, but the reality is that I cover up the scrapes and purple welts on my skin and my heart pretty well.
  3. I can't roller skate and even having the advantage of growing up near the 10,000 frozen lakes of Minnesota, I can't ice skate either. In fact, if you had seen me attempt to skate the one or two times I did it as a child, you'd probably have given me some spare change thinking I was one of Jerry's Kids. I won't skate, don't ask me.
  4. I collect antique wooden skeletons and other Day of the Dead folk art. They remind me to be mindful of time and treat it as precious.
  5. I love being in and near the water. Just love love love it. Maybe there is something to being born under the water sign of Aquarius.
