I can't tell you how many people have asked over the past few days. I know there's a Minnesota-California connection and all, but seriously, how could people really think this woman was me?

Other Patty Mitchell's more famous than me...

  • There's an artist Patty Mitchell that works with people with developmental disabilities and apparently is a wonderful person.
  • There's Pat Mitchell, who used to head up PBS. The same Pat Mitchell who was on the Board of Directors at Knight Ridder during my tenure there and who I would regularly get email for. My first week at KR I got an email saying that the corporate jet would be at the airport at 5:45 pm to take me to the Board meeting. I didn't have any BOD meeting on my one-week old calendar yet, but I was very impressed with how my new employer was treating the new General Manager from Saint Paul, Minnesota.
  • There's the author and editor sisters Patty and Nancy Mitchell (I kid you not!), who wrote Chicken Soup for the Sister's Soul.
  • There's the production assistant on the 1994 movie "The River"
  • There's the former member the Dixie Chicks and back-up singer Patty Mitchell, who in 2003 apparently got tired of being in the background and released her own record "These Are The Good Old Days". And who used to own the URL www.pattymitchell.com, which as of early this year, now belongs to me. I've not done anything with it yet however.
  • There's the Patricia Mitchell who's a prolific food writer, author of some 56 books and countless articles on the historical eating habits of Americans.
  • There's the "presenter, life coach and broadcaster" Patricia Mitchell in the UK who's had a strangely similar background to me in some ways.
  • There's the Patricia Mitchell who's an oboist for the San Jose Opera and teaches at Santa Clara University, not far from where I live.
  • There's the Patty Mitchell who came in 11th place in the Ultimate Tri-Fitness competition this spring, listed on the site with the unfortunate acronym of WTF.
